Never mind crafting can brighten up our days. Sign that I am back at work now don't semm to have the tme to blog. Here are a few cards I've managed to make this year but I've made a lot fewer than I did last year. Hope you like. Dee x

Sports Birthday card

Hi crafty mates,

This post is a card I made for my son's birthday at the end of september but because of problems with the blog and being so busy I haven't had chance to post it until now. He loves sport and with the olympics thought it appropriate. The card is A5 size and I've used:

Clarity stamp
Coloured card from stash
Adirondack inks

Hope you like....

sympathy card - In remembrance

Hi all, my computer has been causing me headaches over the past few weeks, so hopefully I can upload this card tonight.  It is a sympathy card for a friend who passed away a couple of months ago, but as it's remembrance weekend thought it was apt to post it tonight. Sorry there's a shadow across it the light wasn't good when I took it. Dee x

Flowers & Buses

Hi everyone,  haven't been around the blogging scene lately, partly due to problems with my internet connection and uploading photos onto my blog; but a quick posting tonight of two cards I made a few months ago.  One is a birthday card for a dear friend who loves flowers.  The other is a birthday card for my brother in law who loves buses.
Hope you like.

Son's Anniversary Card

Hi again, it's running okay again for now so before it throws a wobbly here is the card I've been trying to blog for the past hour.

I made this card for my son & DIL's 2nd wedding anniversary in May. It's one of Dawn Bibby's stamps that I've had yonks but never really used it, quite apt for an anniversary I thought.  I've used various papers from stash. SB butterfly & Hearts and the MS monarch butterfly, and doily down the edge.  Various organza ribbons etc.
Hope you like.  Dee x

Anniversary card - Re-posting

Sorry folks, was going to post another card tonight but it's now decided to throw another wobbly.  It seems to allow me to post directly from my blog but the server doesn't respond when trying to upload from my pictures file, it's driving me loopy at the moment.

So I've posted one of my first cards that I blogged about 16 months ago, just to remind some of you who perhaps hadn't joined me at that time.  Thanks for looking.

Soccer Crazy Pensioner

A warm sunny saturday afternoon welcome to you all.  Todays post is a card I made for my dad's 88th birthday in June.  He loves football, especially now that I've had Sky installed for him.  He is getting more housebound now and this is a little bit of pleasure for him.  I thought this card really appropriate as he has got a good sense of humour and we are joking with him about the amount of matches he watches all Uk and foreign football... he's totally hooked...  lol....   I've attached a photo of my dad in his medals taken at one of the veteran memorial services, he looks so proud when he wears them...

btw: thanks so much to my recent new followers, your support is much appreciated and very welcome.

Nephews birthday card and Invite card

A warm welcome to everyone.  Well this evening is finishing quite nice and bright in south birmingham, it's been nice and warm today when the sun has been out with just a sprinkling of showers.  Makes you feel so much better doesn't it with a little sun on your back.  I haven't been playing in my craft room much since we've returned from Cornwall, mainly due tiredness and housework, I can't seem to muster enough mental energy after work in the evening just lately.  We are really busy at work as we have a new hospital site opening shortly and it's manic trying to get all the paperwork completed for the recruitment of staff.

Anyhow just a couple of quick posts tonight - 2 cards I made over the past few weeks.  The birthday card was for one of my little nephews (I actually call them my little nephews because I am their great aunt - make us sound old doesn't it?).  The invitation card is one of several I made on the request of my dad as he was inviting us 'older' members of the family out for his 88th birthday lunch.  It was a lovely meal at the Fairlawns Hotel in Aldridge, we've been their before and I have to say they do put on a lovely sunday lunch.

Hope you like them, toodlehoo for now....

Indigo Blu

Hi crafty mates,

Just another quick post tonight, this card was made a few weeks ago for one of my niece's birthday.  I bought this stamp a while ago but as with a lot of other purchases, filed it away in my stash and forgot about it until recently. I've only used it this once, 'must try harder' to make more time to do more stamping and colouring... sounds like a school report doesn't it .....  Any how it was  pretty straightforward to make so I'll let the card do the talking.  Thanks for looking tonight... Green butterflies

Hi again,  another quick post tonight, this card I made a few weeks ago for a colleague at work, it was a last dash exercise as I forgot about it until the evening before.  It's made from an old Dawn Bibby design set that I bought when she was on QVC, but great for 'quickie' cards.

See you soon

Spotty button flower card

Hi everyone, it seems an age since I last blogged but May and June has been such a busy card making time and we have just returned from Cornwall.  We were extremely lucky with the weather, we only had about an hour's heavy rain during the day all the week although it did rain during the night on a couple of occasions, otherwise it was warm with sunny periods, pleasant really considering what other parts of the country have been through.

The card below I made for a colleague's daughter in law's birthday.  It is a similar version to one Sue Wilson made in pink and black.  She was unsure what she wanted, so I showed her a few photos of different designs.

I used 8" square card
SP Anemone and daisy flower topper
M bossibilities - Elite
yellow cordinations cardstock
Spotty paper I bought from the NEC last November
buttons and ribbon from stash
SP Parisian Accents for message.

See you all soon

Emma's flower bursts into springtime

Hi everyone,

This is a card I made at the beginning of April for a friend's birthday but I haven't yet posted.  It was made with spring time in mind and the weather had been glorious at the time.  The die is one that my crafty mate Eileen lent me last year, Little Claire - emma's flower, I think it's lovely but unfortunately they no longer produce it now.  I've used the sizzix sun ray embossing folder as the background. MS punch and lemon ribbon to finish.

I would like to enter it into:-

Shabby Chic Anniversary card

Hi crafty mates,  Just a quick posting tonight.  This is an anniversary card for my sister & BIL who have been married 15 years tomorrow.  I love the shabby chic look but wasn't too sure which way I was going with this until towards the end.  I must admit it's come out really well and I'm so pleased with the end result.

I've used a combination of dies..... SB, Marianne, Memory Box and Whimsy. The sentiments are LOTV and creative expressions.  The papers are K & Co I've had in my stash ages.  I also used Adirondack Denim ink pad and the words stamp is a wooden stamp I purchased along time ago. Bo Bunny ribbon to finish off.  Thanx for looking.

Darts and a Pint....Male Card

Hi everyone,

I was looking through my folder of cards and realised that I hadn't posted this one.  I made it a little while ago for my nephews birthday.
I used die cuts for the beer glass and dart board itself, and made up the cupboard using card stock from stash.  Ribbon, Bakers Twine and a sentiment. An easy card but quite effective.  Hope you all like it.
Be back soon.  Hugz Dee xxx

I 'd like to enter this card in this weeks Pan Pastel Challenge 14 - One For The Boys.

Sympathy Card

Hi fellow crafters.

Just a short post today from a very wet and dismal Birmingham on Easter Monday.  I've been having a good old clearout of my craft room and I'm going to put a load of crafty items on my Work 'For Sale' site, then I can buy more crafty goodies.. yippee....

A work colleague's mother passed away on Easter Saturday, and although expected as she was 92, it still doesn't stop the sadness and grieving process does it.  This is a sympathy card which I have kept very simple as I do not think 'fussy' is right for this occasion.  I've used...

A5 Linen Card
Rose flower Rub Ons
SB dies for sentiments (front & Inside of card)
coloured cardstock
Ribbon from stash

Hope you're all having a good Easter and not chobbling too many chocies... as if you would...
See you all soon.  Dee xxx

Hubby's Birthday Card

A sunny good morning to all from Birmingham.  Well although it's colder today the sun is out, beautiful weather for a walk, a lovely spring day.  Just thought I'd post the card I made for my hubby's birthday. I was quite pleaased with this it came out better than I'd anticipated.  It's an easil card using one of the Whimsy lazy days stamps.  My poor hubby hasn't had time to stop and relax over the past few weeks, between work, decorating and trying to tidy up the garden after winter so I thought this was appropriate for him and he loved it, he even said it's one of the best I've made for him.... I used:-

Whimsy stamps
Promarkers
SB Grand Calibur plain & scalloped circles
SB Stars
Navy & pale blue cardstock
Paper from stash
sun burst edge border die (not sure which make)
blue twine
sentiment

What do you think?  See you soon.

NEC Here I Come......

Evening crafty mates.  Just a quick posting as I'm off to the NEC in the morning with a pal of mine to spend more money.... as one does at these craft shows.  Although can't afford much this time round as I have a lot of things to buy for my lounge/dining room when the decorating is finished.  New curtains cost nearly as much as a new car nowadays, good job we don't need to replace them every month!!, but us girls do like to make changes to the decor don't we...
A quick posting tonight a card I made a little while ago for a friend's birthday.  Hope you like it.  Be back soon showing off all..... my new goodies.  Luv & hugs Dee xxx

Another Pan Pastel delight

Hi everyone,

I've been experimenting again with the pan pastels, but this time with a mixture of three stamps, Lavinia and Clarity stamps, plus an Artemio butterfly stamp that I've had ages but not used for a while, even though it's gorgeous.  I love Barbara Gray's swirl stamp, it can be used in so many different ways, and I think the Dandelion is one of my favourite of Tracey's stamps.

I've blended the background with various colours first and then used Archival black ink to stamp the swirl and butterflies on the background, plus the dandelions across the bottom.  Some ribbon and a flower from stash, also a round sentiment.  Quite a simple card to produce for a work colleagues birthday recently, just takes me a long time to decide on the design, longer than making the card actually...  Sometimes my brain switches off after a day at work.  Hope you like it, and I'm so glad Eileen promoted the pan pastels on her blog as they are so easy to use and blend with.  See you soon.  hugs Dee xxx

Pan Pastels and Lavinia Stamps

Afternoon everyone.  Bit of a shock this morning when I got up and saw the snow, I can't recollect the weather report saying anything about it... Still it's gone now, thank goodness.

I'm posting a card today I've made for a colleagues birthday.  I've been experimenting again with Pan Pastels along with Lavinia Stamps.  I've also used some organza baby blue ribbon and a few gems from stash. The inside is decorated in similar design and colours.  Hope you like it. Have a smashing evening, I'm looking forward to Upstairs Downstairs later.  Hugs Dee xxx

Valentine Cuddles distressed

Happy Valentines Day

Hi everyone,  this is my card to hubby for Valentines day, using a little Claire stamp coloured with pro markers, which I think is so cute.  I'ved used black and purple/lilac rather than the usual red and black.  (bit of a last minute rush so the colouring in isn't brilliant)..
 I've  also used :-
TH -distress inks,
Coordinations card stock,
Fancy flourish corner from Dies to die for - (sorry forgot the name)
 Cheery Lynn lamp die
 SB Hearts die,
Various twine etc from stash.
Challenge 5 - Love and Romance
I'd also like to enter this card into the Pan Pastel Challenge 5 Love and Romance

Pan Pastels Debut

Hi everyone,  it's me back again after another long break.  But hey... my pan pastels arrived on Saturday and I managed to spare some time Sunday to start playing.. and they are lovely to work with.  Thank goodness for Eileen recommending them, I'm personally finding them so much easier than using the brayer.  Although I do still love using TH distress inks.  As Eileen said in her recent postings, they blend beautifully.  This is my first effort so I wouldn't say it's brilliant but I'm quietly pleased with the end result.  I only bought a small number of colours to try them out as they are fairly expensive, but in the card below I've used a mixture of red, orange, green, yellow and blue.  I will hopefully purchase more next pay day  (lol)....  I sprayed with hairspray and also spray and sparkle, although this does not stand out on the photo.  I stamped the flower scene with Sheena Douglas 'a little bit sketchy' stamps in black versafine ink, onto watercolour card, which I then mounted on black & yellow card stock.  Black ribbon and gems from stash to finish off.  Hope you all like it, hope to post another pan pastel offering soon.

New Year Fancy Dress

Happy New Year Everyone

Hope you all had a momentous new year.  We went to a family fancy dress party at a small local country lodge hotel, along with my son, granddaughter, daughter in law and her mom, dad, sister and partner.  We all had a fantastic time.  I've attached some pics for you to see.  I must admit the fancy dress was of a very high standard with some unnusual outfits.   I went as a gangsters moll and my hubby was the gangster.  Although I must admit my son looked great as 'Barney' Flintstone.

See you all soon with my 2012 offerings.  Luv & hugs... Dee xxx
