Dad's last Birthday card

Morning everyone,

My dad's funeral took place yesterday, wednesday 13th November, and if he was looking down he would be so pleased and proud as the whole ceremony was beautiful. The RAFA and Royal British Legion  did him proud. There were numerous standard bearers who honoured him and  old friends and colleagues attended as he was wonderfully thought in high esteem by everyone. Although obviously a very upsetting day both my sister and I felt so proud of him and to have had so many good years with him.  I have posted the last birthday card I gave to him in June on his 89th birthday. I never gt around to post before as since then his health started to deteriorate and I haven't really done much blogging recently.

Hopefully 2014 will be a happier year.  Hugz Dee x

Sad news of my Dad

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry I've been absent from the blog world over the past few weeks, but as some of you will know, my dearest dad has been unwell for several months and over the past few weeks deteriorated considerably.  After a very brave battle my dad passed away peacefully on saturday 2nd November 2013.  He battled so hard and was in such excrutiating pain over the past few weeks. Atleast now he is out of pain and together with my mom and his mom and dad.

Below is a photo I posted of him last year which shows him so proud in his RAFA blazer and medals. Also the last photo I took of him with his great granddaughter.

Love you dad always. God Bless x

Birthday girl in a glass

Hi everyone on this beautiful sunday evening. We have enjoyed a lovely day with my son, Dil & granddaughter, we went to a beautiful old pub in lapworth, Warwickshire for a lunchtime belated 30th birthday meal for our son.  We were babysitting for 4 days, sharing with my DIL's parents whilst they went to new york for his birthday. We were absolutely shattered by sunday afternoon, but nontheless had a wonderful time with our little granddaughter.

My card today is a 40th birthday card that I made back in March for my ex boss's niece. A few of you may remember my plea back in February asking if anyone knew where I could locate a particular stamp. Thanks to all you friendly crafty people I had several replies telling me it was a sassy digi stamp, and this is the card I produced.

Hope you all like it, see you soon folks. Hugz Dee x

The card I am posting today is one I made for my son & DIL's 3rd anniversary back in June.  I've used Clarity stamp and several different die cuts.  See you all soon.  Hugz Dee x

Birthday cards x 2

Hi everyone,
We've just got back from a short break, we've had a lovely week weather wise, but it has gone very cold today. We visited Highclere Castle (Downton) yesterday and it was burning hot, such a difference today.

I've got quite a little build up of cards made that I haven't yet blogged and here are a couple of cards made for friends birthdays. Hope you like. See you soon hugz Dee x

Fathers day card

Hi fellow crafters,

I have been busy over the bank holiday having a clear out and change around of my wardrobes, also started having a sort out of my craft room, I 'm shattered, shouldn't have started both at the same time!! Hubby was on shift so thought I would use the time effectively. I went shopping with a friend Saturday to Worcester and of course I bought some new clothes, hence the sort out.. Lol..

Anyhow, my card today is one I made for my dad on Fathers Day this year. As I think a few of you know he was in the RAF and loves anything with aeroplanes. His health has deteriorated considerably this year and the only pleasure he's now got is watching the tv and seeing family.
I hope you like it, be back sooon with more offerings. Hugz Dee x
Ps: sorry about the small picture but you can't alter it when sending from the i- pad.

Hi Folks,

It's been longer again than I anticipated to post again, I've been busy working on a couple of birthday cards. One for a little nephew and the other for our son who is 30 this year! Phew where do the years go, it doesn't seem 5 minutes since he was 3......

Anyhow, because of my absence from the blog world over the past few months, I have quite a few to post so at least I'm not short of material....

Tonight I'm posting 2 I made a few months ago for a colleagues birthday and a get well for a friend. Hope you like them. Hugz Dee x

Birthday card

Ahoy there, I'm back craft mates,

it's been an age since I last blogged. I haven't stopped crafting altogether, but limited on time to play and enjoy it, I just seem to be racing to make a card for family or friends at the moment. I have been trying to keep up to date with a lot of your blogs though, as I just love to see the beautiful cards you all produce and read any info on things you've all been up to lately, as well as any new products. I do hope you won't have completely forgotten me and my little blog after such a long break.

My card today is one I made for a work friend's birthday, she has again started to bake with her little grandson so thought it fitted the bill nicely. I've used LOTV stamp with an easil design. Hoy you like it. Hugs Dee x.

All dressed up birthday card

Hello everyone,

It's not been too bad a week weather wise in birmingham this week, let's hope it continues to improve.

My card tonight was made for my nephew's partner, it was her birthday yesterday and she deserved a lovely day after everything she's been going through over the past 6 months. She's now coming near to the end of her chemo and things are looking very positive. Sorry it isn't a very clear photo but the pale colours haven't come out very well.

Hope you like it, be back soon. Dee x

Deck chair birthday card ( The sun has got it's hat on)....

Hello everyone. I thought I would post "hubby's" card that I made for his birthday last week. He has an 'old type' chair like this which he enjoys relaxing in after a hard day grafting in the garden. I was hoping we were going to get the same weather as last year (nothing like thinking optimistically is there...lol..).

I decided to create a long narrow card for a change which I made from A3 card from the paper mill.
I used a combination of distress inks and pan pastels to create the background colours and sun.
I stamped the chair and gardening accessories with black archival and coloured them in with pro markers, the birds the same. The plants were stamped with a combo of memento green inks.
I added quikcuts corners on two sides on the front and also on the inside. I purposely didn't add a sentiment as I thought it would spoil it. Hope you all like it. Hugs Dee x

Coffee & Brown birthday card

Good evening crafty friends, hope you' re all enjoying the easter holidays. Unfortunately I brought back a virus with me from Northumberland and have felt really under the weather, it's certainly knocked me off my feet. Combination of heavy cough, cold, swollen glands and conjunctivitis.

The card I am posting today was made a few weeks ago for a friend's birthday. I used various SB dies along with kanban card and papers from stash. The finished card was A5 size.

We received some really good news this week that my Nephew's partner who is currently under going Chemo for Hodgkins Lymphoma has been told she has responded extremely well to the treatment and hopefully will be in remission at the end of it. She has been so positive and strong over the past 6 months. I makes you realise how precious life is.

See you all soon Dee x

Butterfly lady birthday card

Hi crafty friends, just returned from a 4 mile walk in extremely windy conditions, very bracing, definitely blows away the cobwebs.

Todays card is a birthday card I made a couple of weeks ago for a colleagues birthday at work.
The stamp was a freebie from craft stamper magazine, I stamped her using stazon brown ink.
The papers are from a paper pad I bought fairly recently which are Kanban.

Hope the snow is not affecting you too bad in your part of the country. We haven't seen much except on the top of the hills. That's it for now. Dee x

Teddy get well card

A warm welcome this sunday morning to all my crafty friends. Well after a wet start the sun is managing to poke its head in and out of the clouds. We are off to northumberland next week with my son, DIL & Granddaughter so Hope the weather is dry so that we can visit places and getting some exercise. My father came out of hospital on Friday morning after 3 weeks so was very glad to be home, although he is struggling, albeit carers are going in to support him at present, but he is so proud and stubborn and tries to do it himself. The trials and tribulations of getting old!

Anyhow, My card today is one I made quite a time ago for a friend who had an operation, it was a last minute card so quick and simple was the order of the day. I have quite a few cards to make for family in April so I'm going to be busy.

Thank you to everyone who is taking the time to visit my blog and leave such lovely comments, it is so greatly appreciated, and makes it feel worthwhile. Dee x

5th Birthday card - Cinderella

Evening folks. Hope you've all had a good Mothers Day.
Just a quick posting tonight, I made this card for my little Niece's 5 th birthday as she loves Cinderella. Unfortunately I had to post the card and up to today she still hasn't received it, I'm so angry and fed up with the wretched postal service, this isn't the first time this has happened. I try and deliver them now but it isn't always possible to as all my family live a fair distance away in the 'black Country' area.

Anyhow back to the card. I downloaded the picture from the intranet and stuck it onto pink card, and layered it at an angle onto lilac card. The papers were from my stash that I bought off QVC ages ago. I had a Niece wording in my stash and thought this matched well. The flower is also from stash, it is from a K & Co embellishment set. I cut a SB circle die using glitter paper to display the No 5. Hope you like it, all for now Dee x

Good evening crafty mates: Hopy you've all enjoyed the beautiful sunny spring day, doesn't it make you feel good to see the yellow glow in the sky.
Tonight the card I'm posting is one I made for my nephew (who is also my godson). He likes cars as well as cycling, and I thought it was a change to the usual cycle cards I make for him.
I've used: Tyres embossing folder coloured with distress ink for the background
Kanban car topper
Lilac cardstock
Bakers twine
Tim holtz gear
Round sentiment
Brads from stash.

Hope you like it. Hugs Dee x

Hammock lazy day birthday

Hi blog mates,
Trying to get some cards made this weekend as I have a few birthdays coming up in march for friends and family. Time is restrained at the moment as my dad collapsed yesterday morning so is staying with my sister short term until we can sort out a care package for him to return to his own home. Basically his legs gave way and are extremely weak, and it doesn't look as if they will improve, so he is going to become very exasperated.

Anyhow quick posting today using a little claire stamp for men. I made this for one of my nephews' birthday recently. Simples!! See you soon. Dee x

Papers I purchased from QVC ages ago sorry don't know the make!
The stamp is a freebie from craft stamper magazine
A mixture of Marianne & SB dies
Ribbon from stash
Job done.

Be back soon

Birthday Girl Stamp (Please help locate it)

Hi to you all this snowy monday evening.  No posting of my own tonight, just some help from you all...

I'm looking to all crafty friends out there to give me a helping hand.  I have been asked to make 2 - 40th birthday cards for my boss's daughter and niece.  They are very young 40's so she wants something modern.  I have come across a card that was made by a crafty blogger but I'm afraid I don't know who.  I am trying to discover whose stamp or 'digi stamp' it is so that I can create a card as I think it would be ideal for one 40th card.  This is the card below, does it ring a bell with anyone.

Please note that I am not posting this card as my own, I am only showing it for the stamp.

Can anyone out there be of help please.  I need to locate who sells this stamp pretty quick....

Hope to hear from someone with some good news.

Be back soon with a posting of my own. Hugs Dee x

Papermania paper pack - blue
Silver pearlescent card for backing

A Leafy Birthday Card

A good morning everyone, it's a damp dull sunday morning here in the south of birmingham. Myself and hubby had a very busy day yesterday as we had our 20 month Granddaughter for the day. We took her to a local park and art centre as it was beautiful bright sunshine, cold but the sort of day to get some fresh air.  We took some bread and fed the ducks etc.. As there are several large pools there. She wore both us and herself out, it was smashing.

Anyhow todays card is a leafy stamp from hero art.  It's a lovely stamp which I first seen on Sandra's blog last year,  it is so versatile to use for different types of cards.  I overstamped it overlapping slightly using gold and green. Materials I have used:-

                                     Hero Arts leaf stamp
                                     Encore ultimate mettallic gold stamp
                                      Memento 'pear tart' stamp
Bits of coloured ribbon from stash
                                      6" x 6" card base
                                      Kanban sentiment from stash.

See you all soon, have a good Sunday,

Dee x

Botanical flower birthday card

I'm back again with another birthday card, I hve so many family & friends birthdays coming up in the next few weeks, i'ts a busy time. I'm back at work tomorrow after 2 weeks off due to very high blood pressure, so back to normal, not enough time to work and play...
I had such fun with my spray paints and distress inks this is another card but totally different colours to the bright circle card.
I wanted it to be flowers and leaves but the colours came out better than anticipated giving it a botanical feel, I'm really pleased with it. Unfortunately the photo doesn't do justice to the vibrant colours used. The A5 card is made up with:-

Dylusion sprays
Distress inks
Ali Reeves masks
SB flowers dies
Sheena Douglas sentiment stamp

Be back soon with more offerings.

Thanks to you all for such lovely comments left and showing your support they are much appreciated.
