LOTV Valentine

Hi,  it's been a while since I posted any cards, so here goes, I've got 3 to post tonight... hee hee...
The first one is my hubby's valentine, my first attempt with a LOTV stamp, I don't do colouring in very often as I;m not very good, but have purchased some promarkers, and must say they blend beautifully using Lavinia card stock, a tip from my mentor Eileen...  I stamped onto lavinia card coloured in using pro markers and die cut using nesties labels 8 3rd from smallest die.  I layered at an angle onto a piece of card coloured in using a combination of adirondack red pepper and distress inks black soot, I typed the little message and cut this out using the last but smallest labels seventeen nesties die.  Using cut and dry foam I edged both with distress ink tattered rose.  These were layered onto some music paper and some speciality bark affect paper in my stash (can't remember where it came from),   top and bottom corners cut with Martha Stewart large fan punch, HOTP striped paper and mounted onto a dark coloured card A5 size.  I used a thick red vellum for the insert.  Not too bad a job as I haven't coloured for a long time, must try it more often...

  2. PS .... just to update you Dee, I still use my Lavinia matt card for my brayer work, but for my copics/promarkers colouring in I use only Neenah card (ouch prices!) Sooo if you are getting results like the above on Lavinia card then I will give it a bash as well and compare the two ... I have not used it for my Copics .... it's nice and smooth so you may have saved me a penny or two !!

  3. Hi Dee,

This is a fab Valentines card, the sentiment and the papers work perfectly!

Its hard to believe that this is one of your first coloured images! What a cracker! It does get quite addictive though so now that youve started there will be no stopping you now! You have been warned!! tee hee!

I love the LotV stamps as they are so deeply etched and make stamping a pleasure - I always used to get inky splodges on anything I stamped but changing the stamps and the ink made the world of difference.

The card I stamp on is a fairly inexpensive white cardstock from The Range, if I remember it costs £1.99 for 20 nor 25 sheets.

    Love your gorgeous card Dee!
