A great welcome to everyone who takes a few minutes to visit my blog, and hope you will return. I started off scrapbooking, but making cards soon overtook and I really enjoy seeing the end results. I enjoy blog hopping to see the wonderful creations from other crafters, there really are some talented, friendly people out there.

Darts and a Pint....Male Card

Hi everyone,

I was looking through my folder of cards and realised that I hadn't posted this one.  I made it a little while ago for my nephews birthday.
I used die cuts for the beer glass and dart board itself, and made up the cupboard using card stock from stash.  Ribbon, Bakers Twine and a sentiment. An easy card but quite effective.  Hope you all like it.
Be back soon.  Hugz Dee xxx

I 'd like to enter this card in this weeks Pan Pastel Challenge 14 - One For The Boys.

Sympathy Card

Hi fellow crafters.

Just a short post today from a very wet and dismal Birmingham on Easter Monday.  I've been having a good old clearout of my craft room and I'm going to put a load of crafty items on my Work 'For Sale' site, then I can buy more crafty goodies.. yippee....

A work colleague's mother passed away on Easter Saturday, and although expected as she was 92, it still doesn't stop the sadness and grieving process does it.  This is a sympathy card which I have kept very simple as I do not think 'fussy' is right for this occasion.  I've used...

A5 Linen Card
Rose flower Rub Ons
SB dies for sentiments (front & Inside of card)
coloured cardstock
Ribbon from stash

Hope you're all having a good Easter and not chobbling too many chocies... as if you would...
See you all soon.  Dee xxx

Swirly Gems, Shaving foam & shimmer mists

Hi,  I've been busy having a play today.  I've made 2 cards in a similar style but different colours. I got the idea for these from watching Dawn Bibby's last DVD, so can't take the credit for the idea of using shaving foam, although using it in crafting has been around for umpteen years, but I think in this day and age of modern crafting it's been forgotten.  The first card is using black, silver and grey.  Firstly spray some shaving foam onto a paper plate (easy to throw away), Decide on colour choice and spray shimmer mists onto the shaving foam.  Cut a shape using white gloss card and dunk it onto the foam, pressing down lightly to cover.  Buff the foam off with paper towel and you're left with a lovely swirly design.  Leave to dry, matt and layer onto cardstock.  I've embellished using swirly gems & pearls, and paper flowers, misted with shimmer sprays.  Job Done.  Easy cards really, just a bit messy and time consuming, but a nice change.  My 2nd card posted is Pink, but made using the same technique.

If I get a little bit of time Sunday in between housework, I'm going to try some stamping with colours using Lavinia stamps  (before they become moth balled with lack of use)!!  Well hope to see you soon.

Love

Feathers On The Wing of Time

As promised my 2nd posting is the birthday card I made on Tuesday for my sister's 60th birthday.  I thought the verse on the front was very apt for this special birthday.  I have treated her to a Elemis facial (and myself of course)!! so once the sale shoppers have dispersed we will have a morning of facials, followed by a nice lunch in Birmingham.

Well it's 8.30pm and we've had a busy day, so I'm going to sit back now with a nice glass of wine with hubby.  That's all for now, see you soon.
